In the sweet little town of Scotts lies an adorable little school. In the little school, there is a classroom. And in that classroom, is a very lucky teacher. It's me.

I am so very fortunate to teach in the elementary school in this community. In our classroom I am constantly looking at the previous year to find ways to improve.  As a community, we are dedicated to the continued improvement and advancement of our students. Here are some ways we're continuing to grow our mighty, magnificent brains!

We teach language arts using the researched based program, Reading Street. It is a comprehensive literacy program with which we have seen great results.

We just completed our first year utilizing Math Expressions  (a Houghton Mifflin Harcourt publication) which aligns to our curriculum goals, and best teaching practices. This link has good resources for families on the Math Expressions Program.

We utilize Studies Weekly and the Michigan Open Book Project text to teach social studies skills. I am currently using Mystery Science, which aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards. to teach science.

Is something to be proud of!
