APP CORNER

Computer coding is a new *buzzword* in education. Coding is a great way for Kindergartners to practice sequencing and problem solving skills, all while learning a technological literacy. Below there is a link to a great article about coding in elementary classrooms. When it comes to Kinder-kids, the best apps are Kodable, Tynker, Lego Mindstorms & scratch Jr. We will use Kodable in the classroom, so look for a letter home soon!

BLOG SPOTLIGHT

The measured mom is an AMAZING blog by the very qualified and talented Anna. She is a Master Educator turned stay at home mom, and she constantly creates free resources for Pre-K thru 1st/2nd grade. The resource featured here is great if you're looking for ways to practice reading at home!

SKILL CORNER

Handwriting is so easy to practice at home, and the more familiar your child is with correct letter stroke, the easier it will be when they need to recall that letter information for reading and writing. See the link below for a really great blog post on handwriting and some freebies you can download for home!
